Global Kids Fashion Week 2013

It's a tricky business shopping for clothes for your children, not that there is a limited selection around but I find the best outfits are usually to be found online by designers not easily found in high street shops. It's also not a joyful experience taking your child clothes shopping either let's face it, no fun for anyone. I would buy everything online always if I could to avoid a shopping trip with my toddler at the moment! offers just that by way of 200 premium brands including not just fashion but toys and lifestyle items too. Founder, Alex Theophanous, launched the site in 2007 with his wife Alexa, who saw the opportunity to offer an all round online style destination for parents and now 5 years on they have a customer base in over 100 countries.
Alex announced this week alongside Kids Company founder Camilla Batmanghelidjh an exciting partnership to launch their first ever Global Kids Fashion Week (GKFW) which will take place in March 2013.
The event will take place as a finale to the fashion week season at that time and will feature two main shows to highlight premium kids' fashion from both established and emerging designer brand names. The first show will be exclusive to media guests and the second show will be open to the public.

At both events there will be lots going on off the catwalk too with workshops from the V & A Museum of Childhood and a performance from the London Children's Ballet. An interactive bloggers lounge will also be set up with rails of samples to view and the chance for children attending to style their own outfit up if they fancy showing off!

All ticket sales proceeds to the public show will be donated to the Kids Company charity.
The Kids Company charity was set up by Camilla in 1996 and they offer support to vulnerable inner-city children. Today, their services reach 17,000 children across London and with their donations they're able to provide a safe and caring environment tailored to the needs of each child who has faced or dealing with different challenges in their lives. An amazing charity and great to hear that are partnering with them for GKFW with the ticket sale proceeds being donated. To see more information or about how to help or donate see their website.

Global Kids Fashion Week will run from 18th - 20th March, 2013.
