Chocolate Banana Muffins

I felt the urge to bake tonight, I should have been at my Zumba class, but my friend bailed out and so I naughtily used that as my excuse not to go too. Where did the need to bake come in? I don't know actually, to celebrate erm...OK I give up, just had the urge. Any cake baking baker type person will understand that right?!
But where to start...fancied the Honey Cake in my Apples for Jam by Tessa Kiros, hmmm had no lemon. Fancied the Pear Butter cake in the same book, hmmm only one pear. OK found one elsewhere...Chocolate and Banana Muffins. The banana goodness surely cancels out the chocolate-y badness right? That was my theory anyway.
In the end, as is often the case, I went through my many cook books and then found the recipe I preferred online (note to self...stop buying cook books). I found this one on Nigella's website Chocolate Banana Muffins
'They turned out very well' - as my 4yr old would say. He will be most pleased to sample them in the morning I'm sure. Although I know he will have a thing or two to say about the fact that he wasn't involved in making them. Oops. Love making cakes with my boy (baby girl makes too much mess to quite call it enjoyable just yet), but still, it's always a pleasure to just make cakes in grown up non children time sometimes I find! Feel like I might sleep a bit better tonight, not baked in ages, phew! Smell really good.
